New York - Council on Foreign Relations conference call with former Secretary of State George Schultz yesterday. He made the case for being more aggressive with Iran, indicating that the sanctions are working and yet wanting more. Of course, the questions become how, how much more, and how to do so without creating even bigger problems? He was asked about a containment policy for Iran and answered, "Are you kidding?" He seemed to be equating containment with appeasement. He saluted Senator Kerry for assuring the Senate this week that containment will not be the cornerstone of our Iran policy. Ok, fine, but what else should be done in addition to the endless, blustery rhetoric?
