It's The Real Thing

New York - Participated in a conference call with Coca Cola Chairman & CEO Muhtar Kent on Thursday. Too bad the session was not-for-attribution. Why not just speak to the power of your beliefs? Why hide behind groundrules? Of course, I hid behind groundrules all the time.

I was worried the obesity issue would never be raised, which is forefront in my mind after hearing at SXSW from Michael Moss, author of "Salt, Sugar, Fat." Kent's answer was not satisfying on this subject, but how could it be otherwise? Still, he said some very progressive, productive things about women's empowerment, immigration, clean water, and Turkey. It seems to me that opening this call to media and being able to report these positives would have helped his company. Lost opportunity?
