The Good, Bad & Ugly

People reveal their true selves in a crisis. Leading is relatively easy in good times; the true test comes when things are breaking bad. The crash of Asiana Airlines Flight 214 displayed the true heroism of flight attendants, such as Lee Yoon-hye who was the last person to leave the burning plane after leading the evacuations. People in Lee’s business are well trained professionals who put themselves in harm’s way to save our lives. Tell that to the next Alex Baldwin wannabe creep who snarls at a flight attendant because he’s been asked to put away his smart phone. Thank you for the good, Ms. Lee.

Then, regrettably, there's Yoon Kyeong-min, a news anchor at Korea’s Channel A. He beamed on Sunday’s broadcast that, “It is fortunate that the two teenage victims in the crash are Chinese instead of South Koreans.” Yoon and what he represents provide us with all the bad and ugly we need for a day.
