Presidents should not create unnecessary "red lines" that tempt tinpot dictators like Syria's Assad to cross them. Still, it's remarkable that the U.S. is readying for military action in Syria because Assad used WMD when his previous butchering of countless thousands of innocent civilians did not merit such a response. I don't want us in Syria under any circumstance. Since the White House drew its line in the sand, however, our options are limited and all bad.
