RIP to two greats who made it into their 90s - the brilliant intellectual, writer and jazz and blues enthusiast Albert Murray and the astonishing jazz pianist and NPR radio host Mary McPartland. Each faced enormous obstacles enroute to making huge marks on society. Can you imagine earning the respect of 52nd Street in the 1950s as a woman?
