"We will root out Twitter," said Turkey's Prime Minister Erdogan. Imagine any sane head of state believing he can silence social media these days? The U.S. State Department equated the move with "book burning." Erdogan must be pretty desperate given the scandals that surround him, and we know that desperation often exposes these kind of charlatans. The only thing his ill-conceived move ensures is an enormous wave of well-deserved criticism on Twitter and other media platforms. Erdogan has certainly done Twitter a very big favor.
