Photography has a special power. It can create doubt
and certainty, at the same time. It can prove nothing and everything. It
initiates conversation, sparks movements and shapes history. Among the
most potent displays of photo-genius is the annual Prix Pictet
competition in sustainability photography. Attending the Prix is on my
bottomless bucket list, as is viewing the annual Recontres d'Arles. This
Monocle video on the 2014 Prix Pictet exhibition on "Consumption" at
the Victoria and Albert Museum is worth watching.
