It must be difficult for Letta Tayler to imagine that there are any other ways to defile, torture, maim and kill human beings. She has seen and reported on them all as the Senior Researcher on Terrorism for Human Rights Watch. Tayler has just returned from a second, recent trip to Iraq to document the almost unimaginable carnage being exacted upon innocent civilians by the lethal, crackpot terrorists ISIS as well as our "ally" in Baghdad, the government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
At the risk of her own life, and as a woman among 10th Century feudal thugs, Tayler is ensuring that we know for certain and never otherwise forget the cold-blooded truth about ISIS and some of their foes. She did likewise during the Yemen Uprising as well as some chapters in recent U.S. history that we would just as soon forget. This role of speaking truth to power doesn't make Tayler popular in some circles, but it does make her essential and worthy of our gratitude.
