Longtime Baltimore Orioles' manager Earl Weaver passed away yesterday. Say what you will about him - he could be a real pain in the neck - but the man knew how to assemble, motivate and coordinate teams. Key to his success was an uncanny ability to stitch together great, good and average talent - not just All Stars - into high-performing ensemble casts.
